Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

I honestly think this is a great anime with intelligent humor and unique visual style but an average gaijin pleb like me probably won’t fully grasp all the references and things happening on the screen. I can’t say that I’m a Japanese pro, but I’m definitely not a complete zero with Japanese culture, and yet I understood maybe 50-60 of all the gags in the show, which was not enough to get enjoyment from watching. And the jokes I was able to understand were not worth enough to rate this anime higher than 6/10.

And if I recall correctly, previous seasons weren’t so hardcore and were easier to comprehend. And another flaw of the third season is that all the episodes have just one simple pattern: an event which sets the stage for a joke and a lot of jokes based on that event. And it gets pretty boring after watching 3-4 episodes.

Eikoku Koi Monogatari Emma

A sweet, calm and pleasant anime, which is better to watch on a rainy day, wrapped in a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate in your hands. The first episodes nearly putted me into a sleep but gradually I became imbued with the life on the other side of the monitor.
This anime is clichéd and original at the same time. The plot is trivial and typical for your average dime novel, but on the other hand there are almost no anime cliches. I’ve watched the entire series with ease and easily believed what I saw on the screen and even empathized with the characters (although, of course, I knew from the beginning how everything would end). This anime is very calm and slow-paced, with a lot of slice-of-life and less drama. There are no excessive emotions and other annoying things that are typical for animes, which is awesome and refreshing.

I also have read the manga, and I can say that this series are pretty faithful to the source.

Немного про Fate/stay night

ВНку прошел еще очень давно, а вот анимe решил глянуть только сейчас.
Ну что сказать, визуальное качество для аниме 2006-го года просто поражает, особенно это чувствуется в сравнении с отстойным в плане графона Fushigi Yuugi, который я смотрел перед FSN. Рисовка, 3DCG и спецэффекты могут дать фору даже современным сериалам (хотя я современное почти не смотрю).
Главная проблема заключается в том, что все события происходят слишком быстро, и 24 серий для раскрытия всего сюжета катастрофически не хватает. Поэтому у зрителя, не читавшего новелку, в конце возникнет закономерный вопрос - what the fuck did I just watch? Вопросов по сюжету в конце останется просто очень много, поэтому смотреть аниме тем, кто не читал новеллу, наверное, не стоит.

I’ve read the original visual novel a long time ago, but I decided to watch the adaptation just now. I must say that I was truly impressed by the visual component of this anime, and I find it hard to believe it was aired in 2006. Drawing, 3DCG and special effects can outperform even modern TV series.

The main problem with the adaptation is that it is too fast-paced, and 24 episodes are not enough for revealing the plot. Therefore, the viewer, who did not read the original novel, will be confused (but on the other hand, it might be a great motivation for reading the VN). For a typical pleb, who didn’t read the novel, there will be certainly a lot of questions after watching this anime. Perhaps this is the reason why it has such a low score on MAL. Anyway, that was a quite good adaptation.

Fushigi Yuugi

Мне это аниме показалось довольно посредственном, как в плане сюжета, так и в плане рисовки. Да, графон, конечно, не так важен, как внутренняя составляющая, как сюжет, только вот сюжет еще бюджетней, чем рисовка - он полностью изрешечен ляпами и дырами, с которыми смирится только самый неприхотливый зритель. Очень много глупых моментов и несостыковок, от которых ладонь непроизвольно тянется к лицу. Но так как ЦА этого аниме - маленькие девочки, то создатели решили особо не напрягаться над такими ненужными вещами.

Из персонажей почти никто не понравился, разве что Накаго, но и он целиком построен из шаблонов. Ну еще Нурико, только смутило то, как он/она так быстро переобулась от ненависти, и попытке убить Миаку (вспоминаем эпизод, где Нурико пыталась подстроить инцидент, в котором бы Миака утонула в болоте), к безграничной любви и дружбе с ней, без какого-то обоснования. Выглядит очень неестественно.
И да, концовка. Она ужасна. Мало того, что концовка слишком затянута, и авторы слишком сильно перемудрили с сюжетными перипетиями, так она еще и предсказуема с самого начала. Если бы сериал закончили где-то на середине этой кульминационной агонии, то это было бы гораздо лучше, чем то, что дали зрителю в финальном эпизоде.
6/10, зайдет только любителям ретро-аниме.

А вообще потенциал у этого аниме огромный: очень интересный для меня сеттинг древнего Китая и жанр исэкай, который мне весьма по нраву. Но увы... Впрочем, я не жалею, что посмотрел это аниме.
